A parallel circuit consists of a perfect inductor of 400 mH and a 200 ohm resistor. The components are connected to a supply of 6 V at a frequency of 300 Hz.
a. What is the reactance of the inductance?
b. What is the impedance of the circuit?
c. What is the resultant current?

  

 a. XL = 2pfL = 2 p 300 Hz 0.40 H = 754 W

 

 b. 1/Z2 = 1/(754 W)2 + 1/200 W)2 = 2.68 10-5 W-2

      Z2 = 37371 W2

      Z = 193 W

 

 c. I = 6.0 193 = 0.031 A (= 31 mA)
